The Nigeria Police Force has refuted claims of the arrest of the Chairman of the Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado, describing them as misleading.

In a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police clarified that Mr. Magaji was not arrested but merely invited to respond to a petition filed against him.

The petition was received by the Inspector-General of Police Monitoring Unit on January 17, 2025.

The Force emphasised that the invitation was part of standard investigative procedures and urged Mr. Magaji to cooperate fully.

They also cautioned against spreading misinformation that could stir public confusion.

“The Nigeria Police remains committed to due process and upholding the rule of law in all investigations,” the statement concluded.

It stressed that the public is encouraged to rely on verified information as the matter unfolds.
