The Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC) has called on the federal government to provide clarity and transparency in the controversial re-award of the N252.89 billion Abuja-Kaduna highway contract.

In a statement signed by its Executive Director, Auwal Rafsanjani, CISLAC expressed concerns over alleged violations of Nigeria’s public procurement laws, citing secrecy and discrepancies in the award process.

The contract, previously revoked from Julius Berger Nigeria Plc due to pricing disputes and delays, has sparked debates over whether it was awarded to “Infoquest” or “Infiouest.”

CISLAC warned that awarding such a critical contract to a company with questionable credentials undermines public trust and compromises accountability.

The group demanded an independent investigation into the procurement process and urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure transparency and accountability.

“This project is crucial for the safety and economic well-being of Nigerians. Its mismanagement would have devastating consequences,” Rafsanjani stated, reiterating CISLAC’s commitment to ensuring public resources serve the nation’s interest.

The group also called for urgent reforms in Nigeria’s procurement processes, emphasising the need for stricter oversight and enhanced transparency.
