The Federal Government of Nigeria has commended the recent ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which brings a glimmer of hope to the war-torn Gaza region.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nigeria expressed optimism that the deal would halt the tragic loss of civilian lives and provide relief to affected families, including Israeli hostages and Palestinians detained in Israeli prisons.
Nigeria also lauded the efforts of Egypt, Qatar, and the United States, whose tireless negotiations ensured the success of the ceasefire.
The federal government emphasised the importance of sustaining this progress and urged all stakeholders to prioritise implementing the remaining phases of the agreement.
