Police Bursts Illegal Arms Factory, Arrests Suspects For Cultism, Murder

In a series of coordinated sting operations, the Nigeria Police Force has cracked down on criminal activities across the country, demonstrating its commitment to combating insecurity and reducing crime.
On January 11, 2025, operatives raided an illegal weapons manufacturing factory in Tse Akamabe, Kwande LGA, Benue State where two suspects, Friday Aduduakambe and Iorwashima Iornyume, aka “AK,” were apprehended.
Items such as nine locally fabricated pistols, an unfinished AK-47 rifle, and an array of weapons-making tools were recovered from them.
In Delta State, police acting on intelligence stormed the apartment of a notorious cultist, Prosper Akeni, a self-confessed leader of the Eiye Confraternity.
The operation yielded recovery of multiple firearms, including English revolvers, Beretta pistols, and locally made guns, along with 25 rounds of ammunition.
