The 2024 Ebie Day celebration of Umuebie Autonomous Community, Akpakama, Ugiri in Isiala Mbano LGA has come and gone , but the fanfare and colour that accompanied it will certainly linger for long in their memories following the ecstasy that greeted the Chieftaincy title of Mmiri na ari ugwu 1 bestowed on the community”s illustrious son, High Chief Collins Osuagwu (PHD).

The Chieftaincy title which took place on December 29 in the community as the highlight of the Ebie Day celebration witnessed the bestowment of the Mmiri na ari ugwu 1 of Umuebie Autonomous Community on High Chief Collins Osuagwu in recognition of his various developmental activities in his native community aimed at improving the quality of life of the people – both young and old.
A shining light in the community, Chief Collins Osuagwu is the Chairman of Zeus Oil and Gas limited and also the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Chairmanship candidate for Isiala Mbano LGA in the last Imo state Local Government election.
Among those present to grace the august event were the member representing Okigwe north in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Miriam Onuoha, Deputy Majority leader of the Imo state House of Assembly, Hon. Ikechukwu Osuji, former Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Federal Medical Center ( FMC), Dr Angela Uwakwem and many other distinguished personalities from within and outside Umuebie Autonomous Community.
