The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has praised the professionalism of the FRSC rescue team for their swift action in saving six lives from two harrowing containerised crashes in Lagos State.

The first crash, caused by brake failure, occurred at 10:50 AM on the Apapa-Wharf route near Flour Mill.

It involved two containerised Mack trucks.

Among the four male victims, one sustained injuries, while three escaped unhurt.

The second incident, on November 25, saw a 40-foot container truck crush a Toyota Corolla on the Euro 65-Signal Barracks route.

Both occupants of the Corolla were miraculously rescued alive, thanks to the quick response of the FRSC team.

These rescues underscore the FRSC’s commitment to professionalism and its proactive directives as the year-end travel season intensifies.

Corps Marshal Mohammed urged drivers and fleet operators to prioritise road safety by adhering to minimum safety standards and ensuring proper training for drivers, emphasising the need for vigilance during the busy travel season.
