The Defence Headquarters says the Nigerian Armed Forces remain resolute in the fight against terrorism, with significant gains recorded this week.

Speaking during his biweekly press briefing, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, said troops neutralised 115 terrorists, arrested 238 suspects, and rescued 138 kidnapped hostages in various operations across the country.

He said the military emphasises its commitment to degrading terrorist capabilities and ensuring the safety of Nigerians, while reassuring citizens that troops will remain focused, motivated, and prepared to protect the nation at all costs.

According to the Director, in the Niger Delta, troops disrupted illegal oil operations, recovering over 872,000 liters of stolen crude oil and destroying 56 illegal refining sites.

They also prevented oil theft worth over ₦921 million.

Buba also revealed that in the Northeast, a notorious terrorist commander, Munzur Ya Audu, was killed during a targeted strike, adding that efforts to dismantle terrorist logistics and networks also led to the recovery of over 145 weapons, including AK-47 rifles, grenades, and 3,825 rounds of ammunition.
