Troops Will Work Tirelessly To Stop Insecurity, Ensure Safety Of Citizens DHQ Assures

Defence Headquarters has assured that troops will continue to work tirelessly to stop insecurity and ensure the safety of citizens.

The Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, who gave this assurance in his weekly briefing of ongoing operations across theatres in the six geopolitical zones, said troops remain in a good and strong position in ongoing counter terrorism and counter insurgency operations across the country.

According to the Director, in the North East, troops of Operation Hadin Kai are working assiduously to ensure safe evacuation of inmates affected by flood in the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Maidugri.

To buttress this, troops deployed over 23 boats in evacuating residents of Maiduguri Municipal Council to move distressed resident affected by flood safer environment. Operation is ongoing.

He said troops are also working to bring stability in every area of the country where it is needed.

The Director noted that during the week under review, troops neutralised 165 terrorists, arrested 185 and 106 hostages rescued.

In the South South, troops denied oil thieves an estimated sum of One Billion Three Hundred and Six Million One Hundred and Forty Thousand Naira (N1,306,140.00), sayung that troops recovered 145 weapons, 8,926 ammunitions.

He promised that troops will continue to operate with tremendous force against terrorists and violent extremists across the country.
