Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s, NAF, commitment to enhancing collaboration with key partners to safeguard Nigeria’s critical national assets.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Hydropolis Free Trade Zone Cargo Airport in Kainji, Niger State, he emphasised that the project will drive job creation and development while also boosting security in the region.

The Hydropolis Free Trade Zone, a cutting-edge industrial park, is designed to promote Nigeria’s industrialisation and address underlying issues contributing to insecurity.

Air Marshal Abubakar, also highlighted the long-standing partnership between NAF and Mainstream Energy Solutions Limited (MESL), recognising MESL’s support of NAF operations in Kainji and NAF’s efforts to secure key energy infrastructure.

The Chairman of MESL, Colonel Sani Bello (Rtd), reechoed this sentiment, noting the mutual benefits of the partnership, including MESL’s new Hydropolis project aimed at creating opportunities in manufacturing, real estate, and tourism.

A statement by the Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information Nigerian Air Force Group Captain Kabiru Ali, noted that the CAS had earlier paid homage to the Emir of Borgu, Alhaji Mohammed Haliru Dantoro IV, expressing gratitude for the Borgu Kingdom’s support of the NAF’s 407 Air Combat Training Group, which plays a key role in training fighter pilots.
