Dr. Ugorji Hosts Aboh Mbaise Leaders,  Aspirants,  On Imo LG Election .. Applauds Uzodimma on Good Governance

On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, the immediate past Commissioner for Homeland Security and Vigilante Affairs, Dr. Ugorji Okechukwu Ugorji, hosted APC leaders and aspirants ahead of APC Primaries for the upcoming local government elections in Imo State. He applauded the Governor on his numerous achievements, especially in the areas of road construction, youth empowerment, security, and other areas.

Ugorji added that the Governor is democratic, not interfering in the LG Polls, allowing people to make choices of their representatives. He sued for a free and fair process in the APC Primaries, and promised that Aboh Mbaise will not disappoint the governor in terms of support for him and the APC.

The interactive meeting, which was hosted by Ugorji at his home in Orji Ukwu Estate, Lorji, Aboh Mbaise LGA, saw over 30 aspirants: Chairmanship and councilorship in attendance.

In his remarks, the former Commissioner, stated that Aboh Mbaise APC is strong, but he said that the party needed to be even stronger and more cohesive in order to compete effectively with the party’s political adversaries who are regrouping under other political parties.

Ugorji congratulated the aspirants for being courageous to aspire to represent their various wards and wished them the best as they get set to choose credible candidates who will represent APC in the forthcoming. Ugorji advised that every member of APC owes total commitment and loyalty to the party, praying that at the end of the primary, twelve candidates would emerge to represent APC in the polls scheduled for September 21, 2024.

Dr. Ugorji expressed joy for hosting the leadership of Aboh Mbaise APC and aspirants and thanked them for the support they gave him when he was appointed Commissioner for Homeland Security and Vigilante Affairs by Governor Uzodimma.

In his own remarks, the Owerri Zonal Chairman of APC, Hon. Sir Justice Ogu, who is serving nine local government areas (135 wards), stressed that the twelve wards in Aboh Mbaise are very important to the party. He thanked the party Chairman, Sir Tony Awusaku, for extending the invitation to him.

According to Ogu, every aspirant should make sure that he or she is qualified for the position he or she is vying for and “ensure you are capable intellectually, so as to represent your Ward well.”

Earlier in his speech, the Aboh Mbaise APC LGA Chairman, Sir Awusaku, who presided over the meeting, commended the digital leader, Ugorji, for hosting the meeting. He advised the “aspirants not to be deceived by any leader because there are no preferred aspirants.”

The aspirants were encouraged by remarks from Dr. Stan Ekezie, Mr. Okay Azu, Hon. Samuel Amaechi, Chief Mrs. Agwajimma, Woman Leader, Nwachukwu and Zonal Youth Leader, Mr Lucky Akwuiti.

Speaking on behalf of the Chairmanship aspirants, Chief Barr. Emma Njoku, promised that they will abide by the rules of free and fair elections to ensure a peaceful exercise. Prince Alex Elugwaraonu of Uvuru Ward 1, who spoke for Councillorship aspirants, commended the leaders for organizing the meeting, as well as advising them. He appealed to the leaders to give the aspirants a level playing ground during the primaries.
