The Chief Political Adviser to the governor of Imo state and the head of Political Bureau Imo government house, Chief Barr Enyinna Onuegbu has been honoured with Eastern man of the year award from VitNek Nigeria Ltd, publishers of Eastern News newspaper.
The legal icon was honoured recently during a programme organized in Owerri for all the Security agencies in Imo state as a way of creating security awareness for the people of the state.
The iconic politician who doubles as governor’s representative in the ministry of land appreciated the organizers for finding him worthy for the award and promised to continue to deliver the dividends of democracy and to collaborate with the government of Imo state in ensuring adequate security for the people of Imo state.
The former Commissioner for lands said the security awareness summit was to inform more people especially those at the grassroots or rural areas about the importance of security and how to relate with security agencies to ensure adequate security for the state He noted that the summit was necessary because it provided a forum for all the heads of security agencies to interface and discuss positively on how to keep Imo well covered security wise .
Onuegbu noted that the Governor of Imo state, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Odidika Uzodinma has provided a platform to the security agencies to come together and discuss, adding that in the past they were quarrelling with each other but that now, they are working as a team.
” The result was because of the deliberate policy of Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma to encourage togetherness, unity and sence of one direction which is why peace has been restored and nobody wants to be transferred out of Imo state, he stated.”
Chief Onuegbu received the award along side other dignitaries like the Director of DSS Imo state, Commandant of Civil defence Corps, traditional rulers amongst others.
