The United States government has reaffirmed its willingness to cooperate with the Federal Government of Nigeria to strengthen bilateral relations.

The Charge d’affairs to Nigeria, David Green, made the pledge at an event in Abuja in commemoration of the U.S 248th Independence Day.

It’s another year for the United States of America, its friends and partners to celebrate another year of freedom – the country’s 248th Independence Day.

The colourful event was an action-packed night as different artistes thrilled both the hosts and guests with their performances.

According to Mr Green, the US-NIgeria relationship is invaluable especially as the two largest presidential democracies in the world, they share deep values and histories that are robust examples to the rest of the world.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, who was represented by Ambassador Janet Olisa, said both countries enjoy a long standing relationship and are ready to take it to the next level as was demonstrated in the 6th Bi-National meeting held in Abuja in April this year.

She commended the United States for its intervention in the areas of security, education, and people-to-people engagements.

U.S Independence celebration is when the Americans get to celebrate both the founding of the nation and the democratic principles that have guided them for hundreds of years.
