In what should be regarded as a super pass mark for the state government, the Management Director of the Imo State Waste Management Agency, IMSWMA, Mr Cyril Njoku, has commended the efforts of Governor Hope Uzodimma for supporting the agency in its aspirations to keeping the state clean.
Speaking with journalists in Owerri, Njoku said, “IMSWMA is doing its best to make our environmental cleaner. You may have observed that all the garbage that used to be a part of Wetheral, Douglas, Mbaise, Okigwe and MCC roads have all been taken care of. It is not easy but we have to do it for a healthy living”.
On the support of Uzodimma, the IMSWMA noted thus: “We could not have achieved such tremendous feats if not the support of Governor Uzodimma who bought and brought the equipment, paying the workers and also providing security for a conducive atmosphere for us to operate”.
He urged the people especially those living in the urban areas to be mindful of how they get rid of their domestic and industrial wastes, warning that dumping them along the street or roadsides is not good for a healthy living even as it makes IMSWMA job very difficult.
