Children at the Zion Gate Orphanage and Charity Homes in Mararaba were full of joy as the New Phase Gospel Club came visiting with assorted food items.
The group led by its chairman, Pastor Mathew Agada said they came in fulfillment of the biblical injunction to take care of the poor and needy in their midst.
Pastor Agada called on Nigerians to emulate Christ who showed love to all as he went about doing good and always support one another irrespective of their status as it is not rosy for anyone in the country now.
He said that as followers of Christ, the best way to showcase the acceptance of Christ-like life is through giving especially to orphans and the needy.
Another Pastor from New Phase Gospel Church, Dr. Noah Ekele, re-echoed the need for Christians to show love to the needy around them just like Christ did by feeding the hungry during his sojourn on earth.
He said they decided to come to Zion Gate because they had seen the efforts the proprietress puts in taking care of the children, in terms of food, clothing, shelter and education especially as some of them are already in the university and decided that she should not be left to cater for other people’s children all on her own.
On her part, the proprietress of the home, Chief Mrs Kaima Mozie-Udeonu, who was visibly elated, counted some problems of the home to include funding to better the lots of the children and described the visit as a pure and undefiled religion as they had exhibited love for the poor.
She called on other wealthy individuals to emulate the club and visit their kind so as to entrench a better society.
Chief Mrs. Mozie-Udeonu prayed God to bless their benefactors and meet them at the point of their needs individually.
