The Anambra State WAI Brigade Commander, Francis Nwoye has been honoured as Ambassador of the National Association of Nigerian Drug and Narcotic Monitoring.
The event which was held in Awka recently marked the official inauguration of the Association in Anambra State.
Presenting the award, Dr. Nelson Maduabuchi admonishes the awardees to always help in fight against abuse of drugs and narcotics.
He emphasized the relevance of partnering with the WAI Brigade and other Stakeholders to ensure that the vice is brought to the minimum especially as the War Against indiscipline (WAI) Brigade is an organization set-up to help in the fight against indiscipline and corruption under which drug and Narcotics abuse fall.
Receiving the Award, Nwoye expressed joy at the honour giving him as an ambassador and promised to use his good office’ to be in the fore front of the crusade against drug and Narcotics abuse through inter-personal interaction, counseling, pragmatic enlightenment and general intervention.
Speaking, Dr. Hassan Ibrahim Mohammed, the Deputy Clerk , Senate Committee on Drugs and Narcotics, National Assembly Abuja, thanked the organizers for putting up such an event and promised that the House Committee will collaborate with the National Association of Nigeria Drugs Monitoring for an all encompassing effective anti drug abuse crusade.He commended State Co-ordinator, Dr. Christabel, describing her as a role model and partner in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking.
The Awardees cut across clergy, the legal profession, industrialist and the entertainment industry, express delight at being recognized as ambassadors and promised to be worthy ambassadors indeed.
The WAI Brigade Commander, Anambra State has been in the vanguard of the War Against indiscipline which has awaken the consciousness of the people against such vices as drug abuse, environmental misconduct, Alcoholism , reckless road behavior, etc . It is expected that this award as an ambassador will charged him to do more
