The Nigerian Breweries on Friday paid a coursy visit to HRM, Eze Dr. Emmanuel Okeke CFR (Eze Imo) to formally present to him one of his sons who won the 2023 Nigerian Brewery Highlife competition and appreciate him for bringing up a traditional music singer.
Speaking during the presentation at Eze Imo’s office the Regional Marketing Manager Aba Region, South East, Kingsley Okafor thanked Eze Imo, describing him as a father. He noted that every year NB has been sponsoring traditional music competition since 2017 and expressed delight that an Imo son won the 2023 highlife contest and has been crowned the king of highlife.
”In accordance with tradition we brought him to Eze of Ezes in Imo for his blessing as well as promotion of highlife music. Incidentally, highlife originated from Mbaise and today an Mbaise son has emarged the king of highlife music sponsored by Highlife continatal lager bear.
In his response, the Chairman of Imo State Council of traditional Rulers (Eze Imo) Eze Dr E. Okeke, CFR, Eze Udo 1 of Amaifeke anciant kingdom, expressed delight over the visit describing it as a welcome development and thanked them immensely for their good gesture.
He poured his royal blessings on the winner even as he prayed for sustainance of the competition while encouraging them to keep it up.
The royal father informed them about the upcoming event of Iri ji Eze Imo which is coming up soon and invited them to participate in the ceremony.
Speaking with vivid excitement, Eze N. U. Okeahalam, from Onicha ancient kingdom Mbaise and other Ezes in Imo State expressed joy over the development. ”We are very excited that our son has made us proud. I will encourage him to keep on and keep promoting the highlife music, the company, Community, Imo State and Nigeria at large while Urging the life lager bear company to always advertise their products and services more wider to enable people know more about them.
Speaking with journalist, the king of highlife, king Umunnakwe Nwajiaku aka (Nwajiaku Voice), disclosed how happy he was.
” Iam very happy to be the king of highlife musicians. I have been yeaning to win the contest over the years, I thank God today for giving me the opportunity to work tirelessly, put in my best and today I am the crown king of highlife Among 10000 contestant, I came out the bes. I dedicate it to God Almighty and to Imo State and promise to promote the highlife music and the products of the company for more developments”, he said
