The China Government has said it will increase economic cooperation with Nigeria, as it is important to Africa and the world.
Chinese President, XI Jinping, who spoke through his Special Envoy and Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of National People’s Congress, People’s Republic of China, Mr Peng Qinghua, met with President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja, saying the two countries had good bilateral relations and economic cooperation.
He stressed that Chinese companies are doing well in Nigeria in railways, roads, hydropower and free trade zones and commended Tinubu’s plan to lead Nigeria to a new era of economic development and prosperity.
The Chinese envoy, noted, there were areas where Nigeria could benefit from China hence the need for the two countries to share ideas and align strategies.
He urged President Tinubu to also create a more conducive environment for investment.
In his response, Presidebt Tinubu said Nigeria is open for business and constructive partnerships, and would do business with any country ready to do business with the country.
He promised that his administration would work to promote ease of doing business as the country needs accelerated growth.
Tinubu promised to continue to work to promote democracy in the West African sub-region as a product of democracy saying he would work day and night to advance democracy.
He also promised to fight terrorism and all forms of criminality saying that the two countries can learn from each other, but will remain non-aligned.
