Abuja: Permanet Secretary, Alhaji Abubakar takes over Sports Ministry

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, Alhaji Ismaila Abubakar has taken over leadership of the Ministry as former Minister of the ministry, Mr. Sunday Dare, handed over to him.
In his speech at the handing over ceremony which held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, the Minister thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for giving him the opportunity to serve his Fatherland.


According to him, the appointment enabled him have a better knowledge and understanding of the challenges of governance as well as that of youths saying that it also granted him with the opportunity to seek out ways to profer solutions on complex issues in relation to governance.
Dare, further noted that the portfolio was an avenue for him to encourage Nigeria youths to take up sports as a career for the socio-economic development of the country, called on them to support the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Administration for enhanced development of the sector.
The Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Ismaila Abubakar, in his response, commended Mr. Sunday Dare for his laudable initiatives in the Ministry.


He noted that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration created an enabling environment for the sector to thrive, and pledged that he and other staff and Management of the Ministry, will support and cooperate with the President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration.
The President Muhammadu Buhari-led Administration ended on May 29, 2023.
