The House of Representatives Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency, elect, Akarachi Amadi, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Shortly after receiving the Certificate in Abuja on Wednesday, the member elect, Hon. Akarachi Amadi, promised to always submit himself for scrutiny so as to be accountable to the people as they had given him the power to represent them.

 

He pledged to use the power of the people for their benefit by giving them fair and effective representation through promotion of people oriented bills and motions in the tenth National Assembly.

 

The 28 years old Akarachi who clinched the position at his first shot at politics was full of praises for the not too young to run bill which he said facilitated his qualification to aspire to run in the 2023 general election in the first instance.

“I am going to fullfil my promises to my constituency by giving my effective representation, to be available anytime they need me, and submit myself to the scrutiny for their benefits.

“I solemnly swear to promised that every single power that belongs to the people of Mbaitoli/Ikeduru would be used to develop the area.

 

It will be recalled that Akarachi Amadi was declared the winner of the just concluded supplementary election in Imo State.

 

According to the results as announced by the federal constituency returning officer, Prof. Boniface Okoro, the APC candidate received the most votes followed by Uche Ogbuagu of the Labour Party, who polled about 18, 296 votes below Amadi’s 21, 372 total votes.

The incumbent and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Henry Nwawuba, got 7,202 votes; while the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Usmond Ukanacho, had 6,681 votes.
