In a bid to tackle smuggling and other transborder crimes within its area of operation, the recently appointed Area Controller (AC), Nigeria Customs Service, Borno/Yobe Area Command, Comptroller Baffa Musa Dambam, has called for enhanced collaboration and support from 7 Division Nigerian Army.

The AC, who made the appeal when he paid a courtesy visit to the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division and Commander Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI, Maj Gen Waidi Shaibu, earlier today, 15 Feb 23, at Headquarters 7 Division Nigerian Army, Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, stated that the purpose of the visit, was to introduce himself to the GOC as the new AC and to seek enhanced collaboration with the Division.

 

He pledged the commitment of the Command under his leadership to foster synergy and intelligence sharing between the Area Command and the Division.

 

In his remarks, the GOC, Maj Gen Waidi Shaibu, assured Comptroller Dambam of the Division’s commitment to building on the already existing synergy with the Area Command and also congratulated him on his appointment.

General Shaibu later sought cooperation in the provision of reliable and actionable intelligence reports on the activities ofp⁰⁰0 smugglers around the border areas, as well as on other crimes and criminalities within the general area.

 

He equally enjoined the AC and his team to brace up for the joint task of ensuring a successful conduct of the forth coming general elections in Borno State.

Highlights of the visit were the endorsement of the visitors book by the AC, presentation of souvenir and group photograph.
