APC rally: Massive crowd as Imo stands still for Tinubu
The President of Igbo Kwenu for Asiwaju-Shettima Amb. Ginika Tor, Federal Commissioner, Federal Character Commission has described the mammoth crowd that trooped out to grace the APC Women Presidential Campaign Rally SouthEast held in Owerri , Imo State as an indication that Igbos are for the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Addressing journalists at the event on Wednesday, Tor said despite the false impression created by some people that Southeast people will not support Tinubu’s ticket, people came out en masse for the rally.
She added that Asiwaju stands out amongst other candidates and he has all it takes to take Nigeria to the next level of greatness.
“The story that was told to the people at the federal level was that Southeast will not support the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Ticket and so the expectation of turnout at the rally will not be encouraging. Lo and behold, Imo State women came out in their large numbers to the rally.
“I’m not surprised at the huge turnout and excitement showcased by the women because the woman behind the successful and impressive outing is a woman with the heart of gold, a leader to reckon with, Barr. Mrs. Chioma Hope Uzodinma, first lady of Imo State.
“The governor’s wife played a vital role in organizing the rally. She was at the venue from start to finish, ensuring that committees were working accordingly, with the support of the Local organizing Committee headed by the Imo State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon. Nkechinyere Ugwu ”
The group which was birthed at the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Presidential flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress through Omaluegwuoku Progressive Initiative, has toured the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria on a pre-campaign town-hall meeting which kicked off at Enugu for the SouthEast Region , then Lagos, Cross-Rivers , Kano , Yobe States and had its grand-finale at Keffi, Nassarawa State.
Also, the National Secretary of OPI, Chief Emma Ogbonna Ph.D, who can be described as a true HE 4 SHE who was present at the rally in solidarity, reaffirmed his position on the forthcoming election
He said: “Women are the most vital tool in election victory because once they give you their words they keep to them”
He further stated that he will continue to support their leader, Amb. Ginika Tor and where she directs them to go, there they will go and record has it that she is a strong supporter of Asiwaju –Shettima Presidential ticket.
Hon. Onyanta Nkiru, The group’s SouthEast Coordinator, who also doubles as the SSA to the Federal Commissioner while addressing the press, said “Asiwaju is a man that is credible, that has capacity, he is a detribalized Nigerian. Hon. Ginika Tor indeed has chosen the right path for us to follow”
The state Coordinator Ijeoma Joy Nwagbara told the press that Honourable Ginika Tor is like the palm tree and same is Tinubu, she said the palm tree is very productive with lots of diversification and so is Tinubu.
Hon. Jennifer Ndubuisi applauded the governor of the State and the first lady of Imo State whom she described as Nne Ora , she said the outcome of the Women Presidential Campaign Rally SouthEast has proven that the women of the southeast extraction are ready to vote Asiwaju in the forthcoming election.
