Trade fair: ECCIMA assures visitors, exhibitors of adequate security

President of Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA) Barr. Jasper Nduagwuike has expressed the chamber’s readiness to host a hitch-free 33rd Enugu International Trade Fair.

The president also assured exhibitors and visitors to the fair of adequate protection of their lives and properties while the exercise lasts.

Nduagwuike who disclosed this during a press brief at the ECCIMA office, emphasized that the ECCIMA had mapped out a lot of activities to make this year trade fair very successful.

According to him “We have set out many programmes. In the course of this project, we have set up billboards and fliers. we will do road show to create awareness about the coming trade fair. We went to Lagos trade fair to solicit for enterpreneurs to come and display their products and services. We have a number of new participants, You will be surprised the number of firms and embassies you will see”.

“Embassies of Bangladesh, Namibia, Gambia and Ghana will have a stand in this fair. The Controller Immigration have assured us that immigration will have a stand and if you want to process your International passport, you can come to the trade fair and start the process. Nigerian custom will be there for the first time”.

He further noted that some corporate organizations, including the Nigerian Brewery PLC which had been off for some years would be coming back.

“It is a very huge achievement for us. They promised us that there will be beer carnival and activities in the trade fair. Trade fair is coming back as it used to be and this year will be much better he said.

“In terms of security, we assured people that despite what is going on in the whole country that we have made adequate arrangements to protect lives and properties of exhibitors and visitors. President and Council members has paid visit to Nigerian police, 82 division of the Nigeria Army, Immigration service, DSS and others responsible for security”.

Emphasising on the issue of power supply, he lamented that it is a general thing stressing that the chamber will do theirr best to cussion the effect of increase in power tarrif so that people will not suffer too much.
