NAFOWA Pledges Sustained Welfare Support For Families Of ATR-42 Crash Victims

Families mourning loved ones killed in the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) ATR-42 aircraft crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State, have been assured of continued welfare and humanitarian support by the Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA).

The association gave the assurance during condolence visits to the bereaved families following the crash on October 5, 2026, which claimed the lives of crew members and passengers.

The visits, conducted through NAFOWA chapters across the country, were aimed at comforting the families and expressing solidarity with them in their period of grief.

Representing the National President, Mrs Ngozi Aneke, members of the association conveyed their condolences and assured the families that they would not be left to face the aftermath of the tragedy alone.

NAFOWA said its commitment to the affected families would extend beyond the immediate period of mourning, with sustained attention to the welfare needs of the spouses and children left behind.

The association described the incident as a painful loss to the Nigerian Air Force, the Armed Forces of Nigeria and the wider country, reaffirming its commitment to supporting military families through welfare and humanitarian interventions.

The condolence visits complement ongoing efforts by the Nigerian Air Force leadership to assist families affected by the crash.

NAFOWA also prayed for the peaceful repose of the victims’ souls as investigations into the incident continue.
