Troops Rescue 41 Kano Travellers After Kidnap Attempt In Zamfara
Forty-one travellers from Kano State have been rescued by troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA after suspected kidnappers attacked their vehicle in Zamfara State.
The travellers were reportedly returning from Senegal, where they had attended a Maulud programme, when their vehicle developed a mechanical fault while passing through the area, leaving them exposed to the attackers.
Responding swiftly to the incident, the troops rescued all 41 passengers and later handed them over to the Chairman of Tsafe Local Government Area, Malam Garba Shehu Fanchers, during the night.
The victims were taken for immediate welfare and medical assessment, with arrangements expected to facilitate their safe return to their families.
The rescue highlights ongoing military efforts to secure major routes and protect travellers and communities from kidnapping and other criminal activities across the North-West.
