Army Foils Bandit Attack, Recovers Rustled Cattle In Sokoto
Troops of the 8 Division Nigerian Army, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have foiled an attack by armed bandits in Kebbe Local Government Area of Sokoto State, forcing the criminals to flee and abandoning rustled cattle.
The troops, responding to the threat, overpowered the bandits and recovered the livestock believed to have been stolen from communities in the area.
The recovered cattle have been secured by the military pending identification and verification for possible return to their legitimate owners.
Residents of Kebbe commended the troops for their swift response and sustained presence, saying the intervention had helped protect communities and safeguard the livelihoods of farmers and livestock owners.
The operation forms part of ongoing efforts by Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupt bandit activities and restore security across the North-West.
