Troops Rescue Six FUDMA Students, Driver From Kidnappers In Katsina
Six female students of the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) and a commercial driver have been rescued from kidnappers in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The seven victims were rescued on the evening of Monday, September 21, after troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, responded to a distress call over an attack on a commercial vehicle travelling from Kaduna to Katsina.
The vehicle was intercepted along the Daye–Malumfashi road, where the troops’ swift intervention reportedly forced the kidnappers to abandon their captives and flee.
The rescued students and driver were found unhurt and subsequently subjected to preliminary security profiling and medical checks.
They were later handed over to designated authorities for safe reunion with their families and the university.
The operation highlights the continued military response to kidnapping and other criminal activities along major routes in the North-West.
