Generals Gather In Kano As Military Spokesman Gives Two Daughters In Marriage

KANO – The wedding of two daughters of the military high command’s spokesman, Major-General Samaila Uba, brought together serving and retired senior officers from Nigeria’s Army, Navy and Air Force in Kano on Saturday.

The Wedding Fathia, held at Alfurqan Mosque, Alu Avenue, Nasarawa GRA, attracted representatives of the three Service Chiefs, alongside other senior military officers, colleagues and well-wishers.

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, was represented by the Director of Training, Major-General S. Nuhu, while the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Waidi Shaibu, was represented by the Commander, 3 Brigade, Brigadier-General S.A. Jimoh.

The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abass, was represented by Commodore Abubakar Madawaki, while the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, was represented by Air Vice Marshal N.B. Folaji.

Among those in attendance was former Nigerian Army spokesman, retired Brigadier-General Sani Kukasheka Usman, alongside other senior military personnel.

The first daughter, Sadiya Ismail Uba, was joined in marriage with Abdulhamid Magaji Bako, while the second, Dr Aisha Ismail Uba, married Dr Ibrahim Ali Umar.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major-General Uba expressed gratitude to Allah for allowing him to witness the marriage of both daughters, describing the occasion as a rare blessing.

“I’m very happy to witness today, which is the occasion of Wedding Fathia for my two daughters. I give thanks to Allah for sparing my life to witness this day,” he said.

He also thanked his superiors, mentors, colleagues and junior officers for attending the ceremony and prayed for continued blessings upon them.

The Chief Imam of Alfurqan Mosque, who had earlier joined the couples in a private session, prayed for the newly formed families and the families of General Uba, the late Magajin Rafin Ringim and Alhaji Bako Babura.

The celebration continued at Ten to Ten Restaurant, where guests were treated to entertainment during the reception.
