Tributes Flow For Retired ABS MD Offoh At Commendation Service
The life of a broadcaster is often measured by the people and institutions shaped by his work. For the late Sir Oselloka Offoh, tributes at his commendation service in Onitsha highlighted a career marked by service, mentorship, and investment in people.
The service, held at All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha, Diocese on the Niger, attracted family members, friends, clergy, Knights of St Christopher and media colleagues as they celebrated the life of the former Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, who died aged 63.
Preaching at the service, Senior Priest of the Diocese, Dr Chidi Nwadike, described Offoh, who also served as the Diocese’s Director of Communications, as a faithful Christian who contributed to several diocesan committees.
His children, Sydney and Pharmacist Sandra Offoh, remembered their father as a man who invested deeply in people.
Members of the Knights of St Christopher, including Sir Simon Omekaodimma, Dr Jide Onyekwelu, Pharmacist Chris Ukachukwu and Dame Vivien Onwuekwe, described him as a man of value whose impact would endure.
His former colleagues, including Assistant Director News, NTA Onitsha, Mrs Maureen Ezeokeke; Blessing Ijedibia of ABS; Chris Obileri of Radio Nigeria; and Acting Manager of Alpha Radio Nnobi, Rev Ifeanyichukwu Ekeka, also paid tribute to his professionalism, selflessness, and mentorship.
The service ended with prayers for the repose of his soul and comfort for his family, as preparations continue for his final burial on August 27, 2026.
