CAF Opens Bidding For AFCON 2028, 2032 and 2036 Hosts
The race to host Africa’s biggest football tournament has begun, with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) inviting its 54 Member Associations to submit bids for the 2028, 2032 and 2036 Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.
CAF said the bidding process would follow a framework developed with independent expert adviser PwC and other technical, financial and legal advisers to ensure transparency, credibility and compliance with global best practices.
The continental football body described AFCON as Africa’s biggest sporting event, attracting more than 3.2 billion television viewers and six billion digital views globally.
The next edition, AFCON 2027, will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda from 19 June to 17 July 2027.
CAF said further announcements on its national team competitions would be made in due course.
