FCT Opens Special Admission Into Top Unity Schools, Fixes August 22 Entrance Examination

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Education Resource Centre (ERC), Abuja, has announced the commencement of special admission into Senior Secondary School One (SS1) for the 2026/2027 academic session, offering qualified candidates the opportunity to gain admission into some of the territory’s leading government science and secondary schools.
The admission exercise covers Government Science and Technical Colleges in Abaji, Bwari, Garki and Kwali, as well as Government Girls’ Science Secondary School, Kuje, and Government Science Secondary School, Maitama.
The schools will admit successful candidates based on merit and the FCT-ERC approved placement criteria.
According to a notice issued by the FCT Education Resource Centre and signed by the Director of the Centre, Dr. Neemat Daud Abdulrahim, application forms are available online through the FCT ERC admission portal, with payments to be made via Remita.
The process, the Centre said, is fully digital from registration to the release of results.
Candidates seeking admission are required to possess six credit passes in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and attain the prescribed cut-off mark in the entrance examination.
The entrance examination has been scheduled for 22 August 2026 at 8:00 a.m., while online registration will open on 7 July and close on 21 August 2026.
Examination numbers, centres and dates will be automatically assigned upon successful submission of applications.
Announcing the admission exercise, the Director of the FCT Education Resource Centre urged parents and guardians to take advantage of the opportunity to enrol their children in quality public schools known for academic excellence and technical education.
