Taraba Unveils New Police Headquarters To Boost Security, Rapid Response
Strengthening security infrastructure remains central to effective policing, and Taraba State has taken a significant step with the commissioning of a new Police Command Headquarters Complex and B Division in Yorro.
The facilities were inaugurated on Wednesday on behalf of Governor Dr Agbu Kefas by retired Commissioner of Police Cyril Agyole Abeh.
The ceremony drew government officials, traditional rulers, senior police officers, community leaders and other stakeholders.
Representing the Inspector-General of Police, the Commissioner of Police, Taraba State Command, CP Moorkwap Sebastian Dongshal, described the project as a major investment that will improve command administration, intelligence gathering, operational coordination and rapid response to security threats.
The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, Alhaji Muhammad Sheidu, said the projects reflect the Fund’s commitment to bridging infrastructure gaps within the Nigeria Police Force through sustained investment in facilities, equipment and personnel welfare.
The Taraba State Police Command thanked the Inspector-General of Police, the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, the state government and other stakeholders for their support.
It also acknowledged former Governor Rev. Jolly Tavoro Nyame for allocating the land used for the Command Headquarters, while reaffirming its commitment to professional, intelligence-led and community-oriented policing across the state.
