NAF Bolsters National Security As 1,296 Newly Trained Airmen, Airwomen Join Mission-Ready Force

At a time when Nigeria’s security landscape demands speed, precision and professionalism, the Nigerian Air Force has reinforced its frontline capacity with the graduation of a new batch of trained personnel.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has graduated 1,296 recruits into its ranks following the successful completion of Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) 45/2025, marking a significant boost to its mission-ready force.

The Passing Out Parade, held on 20 December 2025, formally transitioned the recruits from civilian life into airmen and airwomen of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Reviewing the parade, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, described the occasion as a defining milestone for both the graduates and the Service, stressing that the effectiveness of the NAF rests largely on the quality, discipline and professionalism of its personnel.

He noted that the six-month intensive training aligns with his Command Philosophy of building a highly motivated and combat-ready force capable of delivering decisive airpower in support of national security objectives.

Air Marshal Aneke highlighted the strategic role of the Military Training Centre as the foundation of military excellence within the NAF, commending the Commandant, instructors and staff for upholding high standards throughout the course.

He also praised the Air Officer Commanding Ground Training Command, Air Vice Marshal Shinkafi, for effective oversight.

Addressing the graduates, the CAS reminded them that the rigours of training were deliberate preparations for the realities of military service, urging them to uphold discipline, teamwork and professionalism as they confront evolving security threats such as terrorism and banditry.

He assured them of the Service’s continued investment in training and welfare.

The ceremony featured a precision parade and the presentation of awards to outstanding performers, with C-130 Squadron emerging as Champion Squadron.

Dignitaries at the event included senior government officials, military leaders, traditional rulers, families and well-wishers.
