CAF Approves 2026-2030 Calendar, Confirms Lagos For CAF Awards
Nigeria is set to take centre stage in African football administration as the Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirms Lagos as host of the 2026 CAF Awards and Nigeria as venue for its Ordinary General Assembly.
The CAF Executive Committee has approved the organisation’s 2026-2030 Competitions Calendar, giving Member Associations, clubs and other stakeholders greater certainty in planning for upcoming competitions and events.
The decision was taken during a virtual meeting of the CAF Executive Committee, chaired by CAF President, Dr Patrice Motsepe, on Friday, 2 October 2026.
CAF also confirmed that the 2026 CAF Awards will be held in Lagos, Nigeria, on Monday, 7 December 2026.
Nigeria will further host the CAF Ordinary General Assembly on Saturday, 21 November 2026, reinforcing the country’s growing role in major continental football activities.
The Executive Committee also received an update on preparations for the CAF Strategy Conference, scheduled for 7-9 October 2026 in Sal, Cabo Verde.
The newly approved competitions calendar is expected to provide clubs and national associations with a clearer framework for preparing for CAF competitions over the next four years.
