Police Foil Attacks, Recover Arms, Arrest Suspects Across 12 States

Police operations across several states have disrupted suspected criminal activities, with firearms, ammunition, stolen motorcycles and illicit drugs recovered and scores of suspects arrested.
The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, said in a state-by-state operational update on Monday that police teams also neutralised suspected bandits and kidnappers in Benue, Imo and Sokoto.
In Sokoto, police foiled a bandit attack on Dankadu Village, Illela LGA, neutralising two suspected attackers and recovering two AK-47 rifles, two magazines and 54 rounds of ammunition.
In Imo, two suspected kidnappers were neutralised during a gun battle in a forest between Amakohia Ubi and Okuku, while two abducted victims were rescued unharmed.
Other operations led to the arrest of 18 suspected cultists in Delta, three suspected drug dealers in Enugu and armed robbery suspects in Nasarawa.
Police also recovered suspected cannabis, tramadol, codeine and crystal methamphetamine in separate operations.
Firearms and ammunition were additionally recovered in Gombe, Oyo, Ogun and Kano, while three motorcycle theft suspects were arrested in Sokoto and five stolen motorcycles recovered.
The police said investigations into the various cases are ongoing across the affected commands.
