Omidiran Rallies Super Falcons for Historic 11th WAFCON Triumph
As Nigeria’s Super Falcons begin another campaign to cement their dominance in African women’s football, prominent sports advocate and Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hon. Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran, has urged the team to remain united, focused and determined in their pursuit of a record-extending 11th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.
In a goodwill message, Omidiran praised the nine-time African champions for consistently making Nigerians proud through their resilience, discipline and outstanding performances, describing the team as a source of inspiration for millions across the country.
The former Nigeria Football Federation board member and long-time champion of women’s football encouraged the players to approach every match with confidence and a winning mentality, assuring them of the nation’s unwavering support throughout the tournament.
She also noted that the Super Falcons’ achievements have inspired countless young Nigerian girls to dream big and pursue careers in sports, expressing confidence that the team would once again return home with the continental trophy.
Nigeria will begin its Group B campaign against Malawi before taking on Zambia and Egypt as the Super Falcons seek to strengthen their status as Africa’s most successful women’s national team.
