IGP Disu Hails Fathers, Salutes Police Officers On Father’s Day
Fathers remain the backbone of many families, providing guidance, protection and support that help shape responsible citizens and stronger communities.
Marking Father’s Day, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has celebrated fathers across Nigeria for their contributions to family unity, social stability and national development.
In a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu, on Sunday, the IGP acknowledged the critical role fathers play in nurturing children, promoting moral values and instilling discipline, integrity, hard work and patriotism needed for nation-building.
He particularly commended police officers who continue to fulfil their responsibilities as fathers despite the demanding nature of policing, often spending long hours away from their families while serving the nation.
According to the IGP, the sacrifices made daily by fathers strengthen the social fabric of society and contribute significantly to Nigeria’s progress and prosperity.
Disu wished fathers across the country good health, wisdom, strength and fulfilment, while urging Nigerians to honour and appreciate their enduring influence and sacrifices.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to protecting lives and property, strengthening community partnerships and supporting initiatives that promote family values and national development.
