APC Unveils Guidelines, Committees For 2026 Presidential Primaries
With political activities ahead of Nigeria’s next presidential election beginning to gather momentum, the All Progressives Congress has announced guidelines for the conduct of its 2026 presidential primaries alongside the constitution of key committees to oversee the process.
In a press statement issued in Abuja on Thursday, the party disclosed that the National Working Committee had approved the guidelines as part of efforts to ensure a transparent and credible primary election process.
The APC also announced the composition of the Presidential Primary Election Committee and the Appeal Committee, including the appointment of state coordinators and collation officers for the exercise.
According to the statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the decisions were made in line with the party’s constitution, the Electoral Act, and the APC’s commitment to internal democracy.
The development is expected to set the stage for heightened political consultations and strategic alignments within the ruling party ahead of the presidential contest.
Political observers believe the release of the guidelines signals the APC’s readiness to commence preparations for what is expected to be one of the most closely watched electoral processes in the country.
