Betara Gets Hero’s Welcome In Biu As APC Endorses Him For Sixth Term

It was a massive show of love and political solidarity in Borno State as residents of Biu, Dayo, Shani and Kwaya Kusar Federal Constituency trooped out in large numbers to celebrate their representative, Muktar Betara Aliyu, following his emergence as the sole candidate of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The atmosphere was charged with excitement as supporters filled the venue in what many described as a vote of confidence in the lawmaker’s years of grassroots development and visible constituency projects.
Addressing the mammoth crowd, Betara, who is seeking a sixth term in the House of Representatives, pledged to sustain projects and programmes aimed at improving the lives of the people.
He called on the Federal Government to expedite action on the rehabilitation of the Gombe-Biu Road, stressing that the road remains critical to the movement of people, goods and economic activities in the region.
The lawmaker also urged constituents to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a request that received loud approval from the crowd.
Following the endorsement gathering, Betara interacted with members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists who were on an oversight and project monitoring visit to the constituency.
The journalists, who had toured several projects facilitated by the lawmaker, including roads, markets, security offices and public infrastructure, sought to know whether he had access to a special funding source.
Responding, Betara attributed his achievements to his years of legislative experience and strategic committee assignments in the National Assembly, particularly his service as chairman of major committees, including the Appropriations Committee.
According to him, his understanding of the legislative system and commitment to effective representation have enabled him to attract impactful projects to the constituency.
