The Action People’s Party (APP) has declared its readiness to reshape governance in Imo State, announcing plans to challenge the current political order ahead of the 2027 general elections.
At its first media briefing held at the party’s state secretariat in Owerri, APP leaders said the party is offering a credible and people-focused alternative, driven by transparency, inclusion, and grassroots support.
State Chairman, Ernest Njesi, said the party has expanded its reach across communities and is gaining the trust of residents who are eager for change. According to him, the APP is building a strong movement that puts the welfare of the people above political interests.
He outlined the party’s key priorities for 2027, which include improving security, revitalizing the economy, attracting investment, creating jobs, and ensuring accountability in governance.
The party also announced its full support for Chima Amadi as its governorship candidate, describing him as a capable and forward-thinking leader with the vision to drive industrial growth and social development in the state.
Reacting to claims questioning the party’s legal status, Njesi dismissed such reports as false and misleading, affirming that the APP is duly registered with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The party’s Legal Adviser, Uche Nwosu, also cautioned against the spread of misinformation, urging critics to engage in constructive political discourse.
The event featured key members of the party’s leadership, including State Secretary Emeka Onwukwe, Publicity Secretary Cajethan Duke, Treasurer Peter Eboh, and Zonal Chairmen Henry Alaribe and Ernest Ezirim.
The APP called on its supporters to remain committed, assuring them that more policies and programmes will be unveiled as the 2027 elections approach, reinforcing its position as a strong contender for leadership in Imo State.
