FCC Moves To Boost Transparency With New Website Launch, Whistleblowing Portal

In an era where public trust hinges on openness, Nigeria’s Federal Character Commission (FCC) is stepping up its digital game to strengthen accountability and citizen engagement.

The Commission has announced plans to launch a revamped website on April 21, 2026, as part of activities marking the first three months of its 5th Commission.

Speaking during the plenary session at the FCC Headquarters in Abuja, Executive Chairman Hon. Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran described the initiative as a critical step towards improving transparency in public service.

She revealed that the new platform will feature integrated digital portals providing accessible, real-time information on the Commission’s activities and those of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

A key highlight of the upgrade is a whistleblowing portal designed to enable Nigerians to report irregularities, particularly in recruitment processes, with assurances of prompt response.

According to Omidiran, the goal is to create a user-friendly and responsive platform that not only informs citizens but also empowers them to hold institutions accountable.

As part of preparations for the milestone, the FCC has also inaugurated a 15-member committee to coordinate activities for the Commission’s three-month anniversary, during which the website will be officially unveiled.
