FG Redeploys Dr Ibrahim Abubakar Kana To the Strategic General Services Office
The Federal Government has redeployed Dr Ibrahim Abubakar Kana to the Strategic General Services Office (GSO) in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, marking a key administrative shift within the civil service.
According to a statement issued by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, Dr Kana’s redeployment alongside 15 other senior officials, took effect from Wednesday, 19 November 2025.
Dr Kana, who previously served in the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, will now join the GSO, an office regarded as the administrative engine room of the OSGF.
The GSO is responsible for internal coordination across government institutions, ensuring seamless implementation of federal policies and decisions.
The office also oversees sensitive matters such as approvals for overseas trips, appointments into statutory bodies, human resource management for political appointees, and the provision of accommodation and support services for political office holders.
It further manages budget planning for the OSGF, handles the affairs of former Heads of State, and maintains the Shehu Shagari Office Complex.
Beyond internal coordination, the GSO supervises 22 parastatals, guiding their administration, policy formulation and implementation.
Dr Kana’s move is expected to strengthen the administrative machinery of the OSGF as the government intensifies efforts to improve efficiency across Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
