Military Operations Intensify Nationwide As Troops Arrest 45 Collaborators, Destroy Illegal Oil Sites

In a week that underscores the Nigerian military’s widening operational footprint, troops across all six geo-political zones have intensified pressure on terrorists, oil thieves and organised criminal networks, signalling a sustained drive to reclaim troubled areas and dismantle entrenched criminal supply chains.

According to the Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Olatokunbo Bello, the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) recorded major successes between 3 and 14 November 2025, with troops neutralising terrorists, arresting 45 collaborators, informants and sympathisers, and rescuing kidnapped victims in multiple theatres.

In the South South, troops destroyed six illegal refining sites and dismantled 23 crude oil cooking ovens, 14 dugout pits, 16 boats and 12 storage tanks.

Five suspected oil thieves were taken into custody as security forces halted illegal petroleum activities valued at more than ₦15.8 million.

Across the North East, troops under Operation Hadin Kai intensified ground and air offensives in Borno and Adamawa, killing several Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters and rescuing abducted civilians.

Significant quantities of arms, ammunition and operational vehicles were recovered.

In the North West, Operation FANSAN Yamma recorded further gains in Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, Kebbi and Kano States, where terrorists were neutralised and 13 kidnap victims freed.

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace in the North Central responded to distress calls in Plateau and Kaduna, arresting 16 suspects and rescuing five victims, including the capture of a notorious criminal, Ibrahim Wakili.

Operation Whirl Stroke also rescued 48 kidnap victims across Benue, Nasarawa, Taraba, Kogi and Kwara.

In the South East, Operation UDO KA maintained its tempo, killing one terrorist and arresting seven suspects during raids in Imo, Enugu, Akwa Ibom and Cross River.

Major General Bello said the weekly operational update reflects the military’s resolve to degrade criminal groups nationwide and restore stability across affected communities.
