Tinubu, Rivers Governor Fubara Hold Closed-Door Meeting At Aso Rock
President Bola Tinubu is currently holding a closed-door meeting with the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Although details of the agenda remain undisclosed, the meeting has sparked speculation that it may centre on the lingering political tension in Rivers State and efforts to stabilise governance in the oil-rich state.
Governor Fubara arrived at the Villa in the afternoon and was received by presidential aides before being ushered into the President’s office.
The discussion is expected to touch on issues of political reconciliation, infrastructure development, and federal-state collaboration.
The meeting comes at a critical time as Rivers continues to play a pivotal role in Nigeria’s economy, being one of the nation’s major oil and gas hubs.
Observers say the outcome of the talks could shape not only the political landscape of Rivers State but also broader relations between the state and the federal government
