Tinubu Visits Late Buhari’s Widow, Vows To Uphold Former President’s Legacies
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid a condolence visit to the widow of former President Muhammadu Buhari, assuring her and the family that the legacies of the late leader will be preserved.
During the visit, President Tinubu described Buhari as a statesman whose commitment to Nigeria’s unity, security, and democratic governance will continue to inspire generations.
He noted that the former President made immense sacrifices in steering the country through some of its most challenging periods.
Tinubu commended Mrs Buhari for the strength and dignity she has shown since the passing of her husband, pledging that the Federal Government would continue to honour his memory by consolidating on the foundation he laid for national development.
He said, “President Buhari lived a life of service to Nigeria. We will not allow his vision and contributions to fade.
His ideals of integrity, discipline, and patriotism remain guiding lights for our administration.”
The visit, which took place at the Buhari family residence, was marked by prayers for the repose of the former President’s soul and words of comfort for the bereaved family.
Mrs Buhari thanked President Tinubu for the visit and his assurances, noting that her late husband would be remembered for his dedication to Nigeria.
The former President passed away recently, prompting tributes from leaders across the country and beyond who acknowledged his impact on governance, security, and the fight against corruption.
