FG Backs Nigeria’s First Science, Technology, Innovation Communication Conference
The Federal Government has endorsed the maiden National Science, Technology and Innovation Communication Conference, STICOMMS 2025, pledging full collaboration to ensure its success.
Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji, described the conference as “unique and timely,” noting that it aligns with the Ministry’s drive to promote research and innovation outputs from Nigeria’s research agencies.
He further announced that two senior officials of the Ministry will join the Local Organising Committee (LOC) to guarantee active participation.
The endorsement followed a courtesy visit by the President of the African University of Science and Technology (AUST), Prof. Peter Onwualu, who leads the STICOMMS’25 LOC.
He outlined areas of collaboration, including the Minister’s keynote address, staff sponsorship, agency participation, and showcasing of innovations.
Scheduled for 21–23 October 2025 at AUST, Abuja, STICOMMS 2025 will be Nigeria’s first national platform dedicated to advancing the communication of science, technology, and innovation for national development.
