UN Warns Nigerians Of Fake Calls, Messages In Deputy Secretary-General’s Name

The United Nations has raised alarm over a wave of fraudulent phone calls and messages being circulated in Nigeria under the name of its Deputy Secretary-General, Amina J. Mohammed.

According to the UN, the impersonators have been reaching out to unsuspecting individuals and organisations, giving the false impression that they are in direct contact with a high-ranking official.

In a disclaimer issued by the global body, partners were reminded that all official communication from the Deputy Secretary-General is strictly conveyed through formal UN channels.

The UN cautioned the public to remain vigilant, stressing that any suspicious calls or messages should be carefully verified for authenticity before any action is taken.
