Bayelsa Queens Gear Up For WAFU-B CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers
Bayelsa Queens FC, reigning champions of the Nigeria Women’s Football League, are set to begin their campaign in the 2025 WAFU-B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers with high hopes of clinching a spot in Africa’s premier women’s club competition.
Drawn into Group B, the Nigerian champions will face tough opposition from Police Ladies of Ghana, Association Sportive De La Kozah of Togo, and Sam Melly of the Benin Republic, with only one team advancing to the final.
The eventual winner of the WAFU-B qualifiers will fly the region’s flag at the CAF Women’s Champions League group stage, a stage where Bayelsa Queens will be eager to showcase their dominance once again after their previous exploits on the continental stage.
The qualifiers will take place in the Ivory Coast from 23 August to 5 September 2025, promising intense battles as clubs from West Africa fight for continental glory.
With their proven pedigree and a squad brimming with experience, Bayelsa Queens remain one of the favourites to progress, but they will need to overcome fierce rivals from across the sub-region to secure their ticket.
