PSC To Decentralise Police Recruitment, Launch New Portal For 2025 Exercise
The Police Service Commission (PSC) has unveiled plans to decentralise police recruitment in Nigeria, giving state recruitment desk officers greater involvement in the 2025 exercise.
The move follows a consultative meeting in Abuja with recruitment officers from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, aimed at ensuring transparency, accountability and fairness in the process.
PSC Chairman, retired DIG Hashimu Argungu, said the Commission had acquired a dedicated recruitment portal to be used for hiring both police officers and Commission staff.
Stakeholders, including the Ministry of Police Affairs, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Federal Character Commission, will have access to the platform to prevent corruption and nepotism.
The portal will go live once the 2025 recruitment process begins. Argungu stressed that the PSC remains committed to building a police force Nigerians can be proud of.
