Ondo Governor Hosts Maiden Advisory Council Meeting To Strengthen Party, Government Ties
Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has hosted the inaugural meeting of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), bringing together key All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders to discuss governance and political strategies ahead of the 2027 elections.
The closed-door session, held at the Government House Banquet Hall in Akure on Saturday, was chaired by former APC National Vice Chairman and ex-NNPC Board Chairman, Chief Pius Akinyelure, with Hon Isaac Kekemeke serving as secretary.
Speaking after the meeting, Akinyelure described the gathering as “fruitful” and aimed at bridging the gap between the government and the party. “Whatever is going on in government is exposed to the party, so that there can be a smooth relationship,” he said.
Other party elders, including Pastor Bankole Oluwajana, Senator Ajayi Boroffice, Chief Jamiu Ekungba, and Hon Awodeyi Apata, praised the governor’s inclusive leadership style, noting that it had fostered unity and encouraged open dialogue.
Boroffice commended the governor’s performance, highlighting prompt salary payments, debt reduction, and prudent governance.
Kekemeke added that the meeting reinforced the governor’s position as party leader and resolved to prevent support groups from undermining the party structure.
Governor Aiyedatiwa assured members that their counsel would guide his administration’s policies, promising continued engagement with stakeholders to keep the party united and the government stable.
