Bridge The Gap Or Lose Public Trust, Hon. Uchenna Okonkwo Tells Federal Character Commission
By Comr. Kenechi Okoye
Hon. Uchenna Harris Okonkwo, representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, has urged the Federal Character Commission (FCC) to live up to its mandate by addressing glaring inequalities in federal jobs, appointments, and resource sharing.
Speaking during the FCC’s appearance before the House Committee on Federal Character, Hon. Okonkwo criticised the agency for failing to deliver true fairness and balance in national representation.
“If the agency meant to ensure equity is falling short, what hope do everyday Nigerians have?” he asked pointedly.
He called for greater transparency and accountability from the Commission, adding that the House Committee stands ready to ensure the FCC meets its constitutional obligations without bias.
